Does your dog sit politely while you put on his leash? Can your dog wait at a doorway until you invite her to go through? Can your dog leave an item on the ground when you ask?
All these are important real-life skills that make it easy and enjoyable to live with your canine friend. The Level 1 My Dog Has C.L.A.S.S (Canine Life and Social Skills) training class is part of an educational program that promotes reward-based training. It uses a proven and effective training method that also stregthens your relationship with your dog.
This 6 week dog training class will prepare you and your dog for the Bachelor's Level of the evaluation program. You will get the opportunity to participate in a mock evaluation at the end of the class and you will teach your dog these life and social skills:
- Wait at the door
- Come and Leashing Up Manners
- Loose Leash Walking and Attention
- Meet and Greet people
- Leave It
- Wait for the Food Bowl
- Stay in place
- Settle down
- Give and Take
Equipment that is acceptable in class:
- flat buckle, snap or Martingale/Limited Slip collar
- Body harness
- No-pull harness
- 6' leash
The C.L.A.S.S. program is a three-level evaluation for dog owners showing that you have trained your dog in real-life skills and you understand the basics of dog handling and care. The class will meet for 6 weeks, starting Sunday, January 13th. There will be no class on February 3rd so the last day of class will be February 24th. The attendance for this class will be kept small so the instructor can provide you with individualized instruction and support. Sign up now!

- No previous training necessary but dog should be comfortable with other dogs and people
- Vaccinations for DHLP, Bordatella and Rabies required
- Dogs ages 5 months and older are welcome
